An Open Play/Clinic! What’s that? …………... It is our new creation! Three hours of Open Play and Clinic combined! Here’s how it works. 3 teams of 8 players each alternate playing games on one of our main courts at Brandeis H.S. (84th st. bet Columbus & Amsterdam) Now get this, while the third team is out, instead of sitting around, that team gets a clinic (8 players to one coach) on one of the back courts at Brandeis with a top instructor. When the two teams finish their game on the main court, one comes off for instruction. Meanwhile, the players that just received instruction take what they just learned and use it in the next game. This rotation continues for 3 hrs! It is an absolutely unbelievable deal!

The League welcomes both teams and individuals and offers Coed, Men's and Women's Divisions. Fielding over 1,100 volleyball teams in the past year, we are America's #1 league.

The Winter Season begins the week of January 9th, and features10 Matches plus Divisional and Interdivisional Playoffs. Last year, the Winter League fielded nearly 300 teams, providing the best Coed, Men's and Women's competition in New York City!

The cost to participate is only $1,099 for teams returning from our Fall season! / $1,149 for all other teams and includes all court and referee fees. If you do not have a team, come to one of our Open Scrimmage at Brandeis H.S. (84th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam) on Wednesday, January 4th beginning at 7:00 PM To be placed on a team, all players must pay $110 returnees / 115.00 all others, that night.

DON'T HAVE A TEAM? NO PROBLEM! THAT'S WHY WE INVENTED THE OPEN SCRIMMAGE!

The Open Scrimmage will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, at Brandeis H.S., located on 84th Street between Columbus & Amsterdam and will begin at 7:00 p.m.

We get a large turnout at the Open Scrimmage by players of all abilities. Come and play volleyball and by the end of that night we will help get you on a team with players on your level. Each team created at the Open Scrimmage will have 10 players. Each player is entitled to play at least half the game.

NOTE: No one will be placed on a team at the Open Scrimmage who hasn't paid that night. $110 returning Fall season players / $115 all others. Also, do not come to the Open Scrimmage if you already have a team. Teams that need to recruit players may attend but should contact the league office prior to the Open Scrimmage.

SORRY NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED.

Each team will play 10matches. Matches begin the week of January 9th and continue for the next ten. The top four teams in each division make the playoffs which conclude in late March.

Following the divisional playoffs we have the QUADS, Interdivisional Playoffs for the winners of each division. The QUADS are broken down by levels, four divisions per level. The QUADS are great because they give you the opportunity to see how your team performs against other divisions.

Matches, including warmups, take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes; not one hour, like other leagues. Teams play once a week.

Match nights vary from Monday to Thursday each week, Starting times vary among 6:30, 7:45, and 9:00 p.m. Scheduling problem? Let us know at the start of the season. We will make you happy.

The key to enjoying yourself in any league is playing against the right competition!

The League welcomes teams and individuals of all ability levels. This Winter we again expect to field around 300 teams and 30 different divisions. With this many teams, no matter what level of player you are, we have a division for you. No other league in the country offers so much competition on so many different levels!

So whether you are an "A" player or a pure beginner, we have a level to make you happy!

Winter teams are placed in competitive divisions based discussions with team captains.

WE ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST PRICE IN TOWN! DON'T PAY MORE FOR LEAGUES WHICH OFFER LESS PLAYING TIMES, FEWER LEVELS OF COMPETITION, INFERIOR COURTS, INFERIOR EQUIPMENT AND GOOFBALL REFEREES? DO THE MATH!

Checks should be made payable to the New York Urban Professionals Athletic League, Inc. (NYUPAL is fine) or you can pay online by credit card once your team is registered.

Presently, we only have enough Winter gym space for just under 300 teams. If you're serious about playing, don't wait until the last moment to send in your roster. We don't want to turn your team away. NYC is VB crazy!

The League plays four seasons a year. This Summer season begins mid-July in all air-conditioned gyms! Our huge Fall season, featuring over 300 teams, starts in late September, and the Winter season begins in January. Our Spring season starts in mid-April.

The League offers OPEN PLAY VOLLEYBALL on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons for all levels of players.
