The N.Y. Urban Professionals Summer Volleyball season
begins the week of July 12th, 2010
and features 8 matches, divisional and interdivisional playoffs
- in all air-conditioned gyms. Last year, the league
fielded over 1,200 teams, providing the best Coed, Men's and
Women's competition in New York City!
The cost to participate is only $885.00 per team
for teams returning from the Spring season ($935.00 for all other teams), and includes all court
and referee fees. Space is limited so sign up your team as
soon as possible. Fax or mail in your roster today! Download
a roster or if you prefer, call us and we will fax one
to you.
If you do not have a team, come to our Open Scrimmage
at Brandeis H.S. (84th Street between Columbus and
Amsterdam). The Open Scrimmage will be held on July
7th, beginning at 7:00 PM. To be placed on
a team, all players must bring a check or cash that night - $88.50 for returning Spring players, $93.50 for all others. To save time, download and bring
a signed waiver form with
you (there will be blank waiver forms at the Open Scrimmage
as well).

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate
in the NEW YORK URBAN PROFESSIONALS SUMMER COED VOLLEYBALL
LEAGUE. The League, which welcomes both teams and individuals,
offers players 8 Matches, Divisional and Interdivisional Playoffs,
Full Size Manhattan Courts, Professional Referees & State
of the Art In-Ground Poles at all facilities. Fielding over

| To be eligible to play in the league a player
should be a college graduate or hold a professional position. In the case of company
sponsored teams, players need not work for the sponsoring firm. Friends and alumni
are welcome. Individuals seeking to join who are not part of a team will attend
one of our Open Scrimmages where teams are formed from our unaffiliated players.

The Open Scrimmage will be held
on July 7th , 2010, at Brandeis H.S., located on 84th
Street between Columbus and Amsterdam and will begin at
7:00 p.m. We get a large turnout at the Open Scrimmage by
players of all abilities. Come and play volleyball and by the
end of that night you will be on a team with players on your
level. Each team created at the Open Scrimmage will have 10
players. Each player is entitled to play at least half the game.
NOTE: No one will be placed on a team at the Open Scrimmage
who hasn't paid that night. Also, do not come to the Open Scrimmage
if you already have a team. Teams that need to recruit players
must contact the league office prior to the Open Scrimmage. No spectators allowed at the Open Scrimmage.

Each team will play 8 matches. Matches begin the week
of July 12th and continue for the next eight. All
matches are played in air-conditioned gyms for the
summer! The top four teams in each division make the playoffs
which conclude in late August. Following the divisional playoffs
we have the QUADS, interdivisional playoffs for the winners
of each division. The QUADS are broken down by levels, four
divisions per level. Matches, including warmups, take approximately
one hour and fifteen minutes; not one hour, like other
leagues. Teams play once a week. Match nights vary from Monday
to Thursday each week. Starting times vary among 6:30,
7:45, and 9:00 p.m.

| The League welcomes teams and
individuals of all ability levels. This Summer we expect to
field over 235 teams and 20 divisions. With this many teams,
no matter what level of player you are, we have a division
for you. No other league in the country offers so much competition
on so many levels! Teams are placed in competitive divisions
based on their previous performance in the league. This, along
with discussions with team captains, ensures that teams are
placed in the appropriate levels. |

| The cost to play in the league

roster. The cost for individuals joining without
a team is $88.50 for returning Spring players, $93.50 for all others (based on 10 players per team). Prices include all court
& referee fees. Checks should be made payable to the New
York Urban Professionals Athletic League, Inc. (NYUPAL is fine).
Presently, we only have enough Summer gym space for 235 teams.
If you're serious about playing, don't wait until the last moment
to send in your roster. We don't want to turn your team away.

| The t-shirt rule is not in effect
during the summer season, but teams are encouraged to wear their
league shirts. Remember, your league shirts qualify you for
discount drinks and food at participating bars after your games!

| | The League
plays four seasons a year. This Summer season begins mid-July in all air-conditioned
gyms! Our huge Fall season, featuring over 300 teams, starts in late September,
and the Winter season begins in January. Our Spring season starts in mid-April.

Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced player,
our Friday Nite Gang is a great opportunity to play
with new players and meet new friends. Beginners and Intermediates
should attend the session at Brandeis High School (84th
St. btwn Columbus & Amsterdam) . The Advanced Open
Play at LaGuardia H.S. is the perfect place for Advanced and
Advanced intermediate players (Divisions 1-8 in NY Urban,
or USAV players). The Advanced Open Play starts in the Fall. Every Friday night from 7:00-10:30 PM.
The price is $10 per night ($6 for beginners) and
includes a beer at a local bar afterwards! Sorry, no beers
at the Advanced Open Play : (
Sunday Open Play - every Sunday from 1:00 - 5:00 PM
