We invite you to participate in the N.Y. URBAN PROFESSIONALS SPRING BASKETBALL LEAGUE. The League welcomes both teams and individuals and features Men's and Women's Divisions. Fielding over 1,600 basketball teams in the past year, we are America's #1 League!

The Summer Season includes 8 games plus Divisional & Inter-Divisional Playoffs! Last year, the Summer League fielded an incredible 360 teams, providing the best Men's and Women's competition in N.Y. City!

The cost to participate is $1,225 per team and includes t-shirts plus all Court and Referee fees. Space is limited. Sign up your team Online today or Download a roster to fax or mail in.

If you do not have a team, come to our Open Scrimmage at Julia Richman H.S. (68th St and 2nd Avenue) on Tuesday, June 11th, at 7:00 PM. To be placed on a team, all players must pay $122.50 that night.

YOU'VE MADE US AMERICA'S #1 LEAGUE BECAUSE WE OFFER:

To be eligible to play in the league a player should be a college graduate or hold a professional position. In the case of company sponsored teams, players need not work for the sponsoring firm. Friends and alumni are welcome.

Individuals seeking to join who are not part of a team should attend our Open Scrimmage on June 11th, where teams are formed from our unaffiliated players. (See Join as an Individual on the left.),

NO TEAM? NO PROBLEM! THAT'S WHY 25 YEARS AGO WE INVENTED THE OPEN SCRIMMAGE!

The Open Scrimmage will be held on Tuesday, June 11th., at Julia Richman H.S., located on 68th Street and 2nd Avenue. (enter via the first brown door off 2nd Ave.) and will begin at 7:00 p.m.

We get a large turnout at the Open Scrimmage by players of all abilities for both our Men's and Women's divisions. Come to one, play basketball and we will help you get you on a team with players on your level. Each team created at the Open Scrimmage has 10 players. Each player is entitled to play at least half the game.

NOTE: The cost to join as an individual is $122.50. No one will be placed on a team at the Open Scrimmage who hasn't paid that night. Also, do not come to the Open Scrimmage if you already have a team. Teams that need to recruit additional players may attend but should contact the league office prior to coming at 212 877-3614. Teams formed at the Open Scrimmage will have a team ranking scrimmage later in that week to determine their level.

SORRY, NO SPECTATORS!

Games begin the week of June 17th, and continue for the next 9 or 10. (Each team gets a bye or two.) The top four teams in each division make the playoffs.

Games, including warmups, take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes; not one hour, like other leagues. Each game consists of two 24 minute halves, (22 mins. modified running time and 2 mins. stop time each half).

Game nights vary from Monday to Thursday each week . Teams play once a week with one or two bye weeks. Starting times vary among 6:30, 7:45, and 9:00 p.m.

The key to having fun is playing against the right competition. We have both the membership and the methods to make you happy!

The League welcomes teams and individuals of all ability levels. This Summer we again expect to field over 360 teams and 35 divisions!

With so many teams, no matter what level of player you are, we have a division for you. No other league in the entire country offers so much competition on so many different levels!

So get off the bench and get in the game!

The cost to play in the League is $1,225 per team and should be included with your application. The cost for individuals joining without a team is $122.50. Individuals must pay at the Open Scrimmage to be placed on a team. Prices include t-shirts and all court and referee fees. You may also pay Online by credit card once your team is registered. Checks should be made payable to the N.Y. Urban Professionals Athletic League (NY Urban is fine).

Presently, we only have enough gym space for 350 teams. If you're serious about playing, do not wait until the last moment to send in your roster. We keep getting bigger and we don¹t want to turn your team away.

Unlike other leagues, each team will be provided with 10 League t-shirts at no extra cost. Team captains must pick up their team's shirts from our office the first week of the season. If you would like your team name printed on your shirts, you may do so for an additional fee of $3.00 per shirt for a minimum of ten shirts. We will need your order by noon on Monday, June 10th.

Please note: Any group entering a team with more than 10 players must pay an additional $5.50 for each extra shirt it requires ($8.50 if name on shirt). Please be sure to indicate this on your roster.

We plays four seasons a year.

The Spring season begins in early April.

Summer season begins in June.

Fall season begins in early September.

Our 12-Game Winter season begins in early December.
